Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, Eastern State Wildlife Management Area. On a large island in the extensive North and South Maple Lakes wetland complex, on level to gently rolling sandy outwash four miles northeast of Parkers Prairie.

Habitat: Occasional to locally frequent in mesic hardwood forest dominated by Tilia americana, Quercus rubra, Q. macrocarpa, and Populus tremuloides. Patchy, tall understory includes Ostrya virginiana and Ulmus americana. Loamy-sand with a thick sandy-loam cap.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Oryzopsis asperifolia, Carex pensylvanica, Amphicarpaea bracteata, Desmodium glutinosum, Uvularia grandiflora, Phryma leptostachya, Solidago flexicaulis, Thalictrum dioicum, Geranium maculatum, Dirca palustris.
