Quite local. Dense infestation here on small Picea mariana trees, in a sparsely-treed bedrock woodland. Partial shade beneath a patchy canopy of Pinus strobus. Thick moss carpets dominated by Pleurozium schreberi. Many dead black spruce trees here, apparently killed by this dwarf mistletoe infestation. "Witches' brooms" are present on many trees, both live and dead.
Additional associates include Chamaedaphne calyculata, Vaccinium angustifolium, Juniperus communis.
