Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Rolling to locally quite rugged bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road, 13 miles east-northeast of Ely, above Jasper Creek.

Verbatim Elevation: 1450 feet
Habitat: Local on the upper portion of a steep, 130-foot ridge. Small patches in vertical crevices on a 40-foot, north-facing, partially forested, greenstone (metadiabase) cliff. Mesic, mid- to upper cliff settings on the little-fractured, often thickly moss-covered, steeply sloping to near-vertical bedrock. Partial sun to shaded beneath Abies balsamea, Prunus pensylvanica, and Acer spicatum.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Polypodium virginianum, Huperzia selago, Cornus canadensis, Campanula rotundifolia, Fragaria virginiana, Maianthemum canadense, Thuja occidentalis, Sorbus decora, Alnus viridis.
