Habitat:
Quite local on a broad, low, gently-sloping point. Loose clumps and small patches in small, moist depressions in what is an otherwise rather dry conifer woodland. Shaded beneath a canopy of mature Picea mariana and Pinus banksiana. A patchy understory includes Alnus incana locally. Growing in small pockets of moist organic soil.
