Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Moderately rugged bedrock terrain east of Snowbank Lake, 26 miles east-northeast of Ely. Above the Jordan Lake narrows (gorge connecting Jordan and Ima Lakes).

Elevation: 468 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 1535 feet
Habitat: Very local on a 60-foot bedrock ridge. In shallow silty soil over moderately steeply sloping anorthosite bedrock; just below the crest of the ridge and above 40- to 50-foot high east-facing cliffs. Full sun to partial shade. Loose colony of a few dozen plants here.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex rugosperma, Danthonia spicata, Dichanthelium linearifolium, Agrostis scabra, Corydalis sempervirens, Cardamine parviflora, Selaginella rupestris, Woodsia ilvensis, Prunus susquehanae, Amelanchier interior.
