Habitat:
Infrequent on lower tier of a large, two-tiered sand bar, ~6 inches above the present water line. Moist sand, exposed in the past few weeks by receding river levels. In a zone dominated by Eragrostis hypnoides.

Additional associates include Eragrostis pectinacea, E. frankii, Panicum capillare, Cyperus squarrosus, C. strigosus, C. erythrorhizos, C. odoratus, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Lindernia dubia, Persicaria lapathifolia, Mollugo verticillata, Myosoton aquaticum, Mimulus ringens, Bidens cernua, B. frondosa, Verbena hastata, Plantago major, Abutilon theophrasti, Salix interior.
