Habitat:
Occasional on lower tier of a large, two-tiered sand bar, ~6 inches above the present water line. Moist sand, exposed in the past few weeks by receding river levels. In a zone dominated by Eragrostis hypnoides.

Additional associates include Eragrostis pectinacea, E. frankii, Cyperus squarrosus, C. bipartitus, C. strigosus, C. erythrorhizos, C. odoratus, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Mollugo verticillata, Myosoton aquaticum, Lindernia dubia, Persicaria lapathifolia, Mimulus ringens, Abutilon theophrasti, Verbena hastata, Bidens cernua, B. frondosa, Plantago major, Salix interior.
