Locality: United States, Minnesota, Houston, Vinegar Ridge Forestry Unit. Along the Root River just downstream from the state bike trail bridge, in rugged terrain four miles west of Houston.

Habitat: Occasional on lower tier of a large, two-tiered sand bar, ~6 inches above the present water line. Moist sand, exposed in the past few weeks by receding river levels. In a zone dominated by Eragrostis hypnoides. Prostrate growth form.

Associated Taxa: Additional associates include Eragrostis pectinacea, E. frankii, Panicum capillare, Cyperus squarrosus, C. bipartitus, C. strigosus, C. erythrorhizos, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Persicaria lapathifolia, P. hydropiper, Plantago major, Mimulus ringens, Verbena hastata, Bidens cernua, B. frondosa, Myosoton aquaticum, Mollugo verticillata, Abutilon theophrasti, Salix interior.
