Habitat:
Rare on the lowest terrace of a large, multi-tiered sandbar. ~Level setting ~4-6 inches above the present water line, exposed by receding river levels. In a zone dominated by Eragrostis hypnoides and Lindernia dubia. Deep, coarse sand with small cobbles (pea gravel size). Full sun.
Associated Species:
Additional associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. odoratus, C. bipartitus, C. esculentus, Eragrostis pectinacea, E. frankii, Panicum capillare, Echinochloa muricata, Bidens cernua, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Persicaria lapathifolia, Mollugo verticillata, Mimulus ringens, Mentha arvensis, and seedlings of Salix interior and Acer saccharinum.
