United States, Minnesota, Wabasha, Zumbro Bottoms Forestry Unit. Along the Zumbro River in rugged terrain three miles northeast of Theilman.

Habitat:
Common on the lowest terrace of a large, multi-tiered sandbar. ~Level setting ~4-6 inches above the present water line, exposed by receding river levels. In a zone dominated by Eragrostis hypnoides and Lindernia dubia. Deep, coarse sand with very small cobbles (pea gravel size). Full sun.

Additional associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. odoratus, C. erythrorhizos, C. bipartitus, C. esculentus, Echinochloa muricata, Eragrostis frankii, Panicum capillare, Mimulus ringens, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Persicaria lapathifolia, Mollugo verticillata, Mentha arvensis, Bidens cernua, and seedlings of Salix interior and Acer saccharinum.
