Habitat:
Common on the lowest terrace of a large, multi-tiered sandbar. ~Level setting ~4-6 inches above the present water line, exposed by receding river levels. In a zone dominated by Eragrostis hypnoides and Lindernia dubia. Deep, coarse sand with very small cobbles (pea gravel size). Full sun. [Approaching var. anagallidea (Michaux) Cooperrider]
