Locality: United States, Minnesota, Wabasha, Zumbro Bottoms Forestry Unit. Along the Zumbro River in rugged terrain three miles northeast of Theilman.

Habitat: Occasional on the lowest terrace of a large, multi-tiered sandbar. ~Level setting ~4-6 inches above the present water line, exposed by receding river levels. In a zone dominated by Eragrostis hypnoides and Lindernia dubia. Deep, coarse sand with very small cobbles (pea gravel size). Full sun. Upright growth form.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. odoratus, C. erythrorhizos, C. bipartitus, C. esculentus, Echinochloa muricata, Eragrostis pectinacea, E. frankii, Mollugo verticillata, Mimulus ringens, Persicaria lapathifolia, Mentha arvensis, Artemisia biennis, Bidens cernua, and seedlings of Salix interior and Acer saccharinum.
