Locality: United States, Minnesota, Houston, Along State Highway 16 in the Root River valley just east of Mound Prairie Creek, four miles west of Hokah; below the two-track road leading to the Sheldon Cemetery.

Elevation: 226 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 730-740 feet
Habitat: Rare and local on the moderately steep upper portion of the south-facing slope of a terrace that rises ~40 feet above the highway. Six plants here in mostly full shade in an increasingly overgrown woods beneath Celtis occidentalis, Juglans nigra, and planted Gleditsia triacanthos. Loamy sand. One additional plant ~350 yards to the northeast in a sandy woodland. Both spots had dozens of plants ~15-20+ years ago.
Associated Species: Associates include Geum canadense, Polygonum virginianum, Cryptotaenia canadensis, Scrophularia marilandica, Campanula americana, Rubus occidentalis.
