Locality: United States, Minnesota, Fillmore, Along the Root River just upstream from the Whalan canoe access, in rugged terrain 1.5 miles northeast of Lanesboro.

Habitat: Occasional on a gravel bar, within a few inches above the present water line. Moist, coarse sand amongst small, rounded cobbles, exposed in the past few weeks by receding river levels. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. bipartitus, Eragrostis hypnoides, Poa annua, Panicum capillare, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Lindernia dubia, Bidens cernua, Veronica americana, V. peregrina, Myosoton aquaticum, Ranunculus sceleratus, Salix interior.
