Locality: United States, Minnesota, Fillmore, Along the Root River just upstream from the Whalan canoe access, in rugged terrain 1.5 miles northeast of Lanesboro.

Habitat: Uncommon on a gravel bar, within a few inches above the present water line. Moist, coarse sand amongst small, rounded cobbles, exposed in the past few weeks by receding river levels. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. bipartitus, Panicum capillare, Eragrostis hypnoides, E. pectinacea, Poa annua, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Lindernia dubia, Ranunculus sceleratus, Myosoton aquaticum, Bidens cernua, Veronica americana, Salix interior.
