United States, Minnesota, Winona, Whitewater State Park. Along the Middle Fork of the Whitewater River 2.5 miles south-southwest of Elba, 5.5 miles west-southwest of Altura, on the west side of Gooseberry Glen Campground.

Habitat:
Local along the base of a steep, 260-foot, northeast-facing bluff. Several loose clumps on a subtle rise in a black ash seepage swamp. Moist to wet, silty muck, in a small microsite that is ~1-3 inches above the elevation of the rest of the small swamp. In partial shade, beneath a large Fraxinus nigra.

Additional associates include Carex radiata, C. stipata, Glyceria striata, Poa palustris, Caltha palustris, Aster prenanthoides.
