Locality: United States, Minnesota, Winona, Rugged terrain along Sugarloaf Ridge, on the outskirts of Winona, above Highway 43 in West Burns Valley.

Elevation: 265 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 850-870 feet
Habitat: Local on the lower third of a steep, 320-foot, south- to west-facing bluff. Infrequent to occasional in a degraded, dry to fairly mesic bluff prairie recovering from grazing which ended 70+ years ago. 200 plants encountered in a relatively narrow zone between a dense wall of Rhamnus cathartica upslope and a new housing development downslope. Silt-loam. Full sun. Large white flowers present earlier in the season.
Associated Species: Associates include Bouteloua curtipendula, Bromus inermis, Poa pratensis, Sorghastrum nutans, Solidago speciosa, S. missouriensis, S. rigida, Desmodium illinoense, Aster oolentangiensis, Monarda fistulosa.
