Locality: United States, Minnesota, Winona, Along Rush Creek one mile south of Interstate 90, in rugged bedrock terrain five miles south-southeast of Lewiston.

Verbatim Elevation: 880 feet
Habitat: Uncommon to locally abundant in a ~15-acre seepage meadow complex, on the valley floor between steep, 300-foot bluffs. Level to gently sloping settings maintained by diffuse groundwater emergence; sometimes along seepage outflow streams. Moist to wet clay with a thick organic cap, locally fairly buoyant. Loose to rather dense patches. Full sun. Locally co-dominant with Carex stricta in wetter zones.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex prairea, Aster prenanthoides, Thelypteris palustris, Galium asprellum, Eupatorium maculatum, Stellaria longifolia, Caltha palustris, Chelone glabra, Saxifraga pensylvanica.
