Habitat:
Uncommon to locally abundant in a ~15-acre seepage meadow complex, on the valley floor between steep, 300-foot bluffs. Level to gently sloping settings maintained by diffuse groundwater emergence; sometimes along seepage outflow streams. Moist to wet clay with a thick organic cap, locally fairly buoyant. Loose to rather dense patches. Full sun. Locally co-dominant with Carex stricta in wetter zones.
