United States, Minnesota, Winona, Along Rush Creek one mile south of Interstate 90, in rugged bedrock terrain four miles south-southeast of Lewiston.

Habitat:
Locally abundant on a large dolomitic gravel and cobble bar, on rather narrow valley bottomland between steep, 260-foot bluffs. Perched on an alluvial terrace 5-15 feet above the stream, in a heavily grazed cattle pasture. Full sun. Rooting in shallow pockets of sand amongst a jumble of coarse gravel, larger rocks, and small boulders deposited by major flooding (2013). Flowers with white rays and yellow discs.

Associates include Equisetum arvense, Carduus nutans, Pastinaca sativa, Plantago lanceolata, Verbascum thapsus, Tanacetum vulgare, Lotus corniculatus, Poa pratensis, Phleum pratense, Bromus inermis.
