Locality: United States, Minnesota, Winona, Along Rush Creek one mile south of Interstate 90, in rugged bedrock terrain four miles south-southeast of Lewiston.

Habitat: Locally abundant on a large dolomitic gravel and cobble bar, on rather narrow valley bottomland between steep, 260-foot bluffs. Perched on an alluvial terrace 5-15 feet above the stream, in a heavily grazed cattle pasture. Full sun. Rooting in shallow pockets of sand amongst a jumble of coarse gravel, larger rocks, and small boulders deposited by major flooding (2013). Flowers with white rays and yellow discs.
Associated Species: Associates include Equisetum arvense, Carduus nutans, Pastinaca sativa, Plantago lanceolata, Verbascum thapsus, Tanacetum vulgare, Lotus corniculatus, Poa pratensis, Phleum pratense, Bromus inermis.
