Habitat:
Local on the margin of rich sedge fen / alder swamp in a small wetland basin. Occasional, mostly in partial shade of Alnus incana and of the adjacent trees in the surrounding mesic upland forest. Very buoyant wet peat; the mat is easily broken through in this zone. Robust clumps.
