Habitat:
Local on the mid-slope of an extremely steep, 240-foot, southwest-facing bluff. Loose to moderately dense patches occur on dry dolomite cliffs that rise in stair step fashion up to 60 feet high. Rooted in thin silt and detritus on broad sloping ledges. Full shade to partial sun in an area that is increasingly overgrown with dense Juniperus virginiana.
