Local on the lower portion of 120-foot, east-facing bluffs. Several plants in a cool, wet, moss-covered, and ~sheltered ledge bathed by groundwater seepage; on the lower portion of a 15-foot high sandstone cliff. Shaded beneath canopy of Pinus strobus, Betula papyrifera, and Picea glauca, and by Acer spicatum and Abies balsamea growing on the upper cliff ledges. White petals with purple spots / blotches.
Associates are sparse, these include Chrysosplenium iowense, Impatiens capensis.
