Locality: United States, Minnesota, Pine, Banning State Park. Along the gorge of the Kettle River in rugged terrain 1.5 miles north-northeast of Sandstone, on the west side of the river, along the lower reaches of Hell's Gate rapids.

Verbatim Elevation: 960 feet
Habitat: Local on the lower portion of 120-foot, east-facing bluffs. Several plants in a cool, wet, moss-covered, and ~sheltered ledge bathed by groundwater seepage; on the lower portion of a 15-foot high sandstone cliff. Shaded beneath canopy of Pinus strobus, Betula papyrifera, and Picea glauca, and by Acer spicatum and Abies balsamea growing on the upper cliff ledges. White petals with purple spots / blotches.
Associated Species: Associates are sparse, these include Chrysosplenium iowense, Impatiens capensis.
