Locality: United States, Minnesota, Pine, Banning State Park. On the east side of the Kettle River in rugged bedrock terrain one mile north-northeast of downtown Sandstone, north of the railroad trestle.

Elevation: 296 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 970 feet
Habitat: Local on a broad river terrace below steep west-facing bluffs. Abundant in a small groundwater seepage meadow, surrounded by seepage alder and ash. Moderately buoyant, deep, wet, iron-stained muck with shallow water between the hummocks. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Caltha palustris, Impatiens capensis, Platanthera huronensis, Stellaria longifolia, Chrysosplenium americanum, Galium trifidum, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Aster puniceus, Carex comosa, C. hysteracina.
