Locality: United States, Minnesota, Pine, Banning State Park. On the east side of the Kettle River in rugged bedrock terrain one mile north-northeast of downtown Sandstone, 0.6 miles north of the railroad trestle.

Elevation: 297 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 975 feet
Habitat: Quite local along the base of a 130-foot bluff. Several patches occur along the base of 10- to 20-foot high, northwest-facing, moist to quite wet sandstone cliffs. In crevices and shallow sandy soil over bedrock, in zones cooled and moistened by groundwater emerging both above the overhanging cliffs and through the rock face. Shaded by Thuja occidentalis, Betula alleghaniensis, Acer spicatum, and Alnus incana growing atop the cliffs.
Associated Species: Associates include Impatiens capensis, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Campanula americana, Hydrocotyle americana, Circaea alpina.
