Habitat: Common on sand bars at the downstream end of a large island. Moist to fairly dry sand, sometimes with a thin mud cap. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Eleocharis intermedia, E. ovata, Cyperus squarrosus, C. diandrus, C. erythrorhizos, Lindernia dubia, Ludwigia palustris, Eragrostis hypnoides, Panicum philadelphicum, Mimulus ringens, Persicaria lapathifolia, P. hydropiper, Euphorbia maculata, Verbena hastata, V. bracteata, Portulaca oleracea, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Chenopodium glaucum, Mollugo verticillata, Erysimum cheiranthoides, Myosoton aquaticum.
