Habitat: Locally uncommon, growing in sand on west side of prominent dune feature adjacent to Quercus macrocarpa and Q. rubra woodland. Only a few individuals observed while searcing for Aristida purpurea.
Associated Species: Associates include Monarda punctata, Aristida purpurea, Ambrosia psilostachya, Schizachyrium scoparium, Cyperus schweinitzii, Dicanthelium sp., Solidago nemoralis, Bouteloa hirsuta, Carex inops, Asclepias syriaca, Koeleria macrantha, Paspalum setaceum.
