Elevation: 442-457 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 1450-1500 ft
Habitat: Rugged bedrock terrain along the river. In talus below north- to east-facing diabase cliffs on upper portion of very steep, 200-foot, bedrock ridge. In narrow semi-forested zone between cliff and broad band of open talus below, and at upper edge of the open talus. Partial shade of Betula cordifolia, B. papyrifera, Thuja occidentalis, and Abies balsamea. Rooted in detritus and shallow soil amongst talus blocks 4-48+ inches in diameter.
Associated Species: Woodsia ilvensis, Athyrium angustum, Polypodium virginianum, Rubus strigosus, Prunus virginiana, Corylus cornuta, Lonicera canadensis.
Notes: Local and infrequent. Small patches.
