Habitat: In sedge fen variously dominated by Carex utriculata or C. lasiocarpa. Quaky saturated peat. Continuous Sphagnum spp. moss carpets. Mostly in full sun; some plants in partial shade of scattered Alnus incana or young Larix laricina. Additional associates include Drosera rotundifolia, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Thelypteris palustris, Dryopteris cristata, Carex lacustris, C. canescens, Spiraea tomentosa, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
