Habitat: in sedge fen filling 5-acre depression in rather strongly-rolling forested terrain...Full sun to partial shade of small Betula papyrifera. Continuous carpet of Sphagnum spp. moss, with scattered Polytrichum sp. hummocks. Associated species include Carex lacustris, Eriophorum chamissonis, Dulichium arundinaceum, Drosera rotundiflora, Scheuchzeria palustris, Thelypteris palustris, Dryopteris cristata, Salix pyrifolia.
