Habitat: on old abandoned winter loggin trail in northern hardwood forest dominated by Acer saccharum. On locally level terrain, near top of bedrock controlled hill [?], in mesic loamy soils. Canopy cover 40-50%. Dense cover of over-topping forbs in trail area. W
