Habitat: rock outcrop overlooking primitive portage trail in rolling bedrock terrrain ... In shallow soil and along bedrock crevices above 30- to 40-foot, south-facing ferrodiorite cliff. Mostly in full sun. Associated species include Antennaria neglecta, Viola adunca, Achillea millefolium, Woodsia ilvensis, Selaginella rupestris, Corydalis sempervirens, Poa compressa, Danthonia spicata, Vaccinium angustifolium, Diervilla lonicera, and Cladonia/Cladina lichens.
