Habitat: in tamarack swamp under denser canpy areas of Larix laricina. Drier, shaded hummocks at the bases of trees. Associates include Galium labradoricum, Thelypteris palustris, Campanula aparinoides, Rubus pubescens, Carex leptalea, C. disperma, C. interior.
