Habitat: on floating sedge mat on boggy margin of a shallow, marly lake. In shallow water and wet. low hummocks, often in Sphagnum moss. in full sun to partial shade of young Larix laricina, Betula glandulifera & Salix candida. Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. interior, C. paupercula, Thelypteris palustris, Triadenum fraseri, Rubus pubescens, Caltha palustris, Pedicularis lanceolata, Drosera rotundifolia, Sagittaria latifolia, utricularia intermedia.
