Habitat: small calcareous seepage fens "hanging" on slight, gradually-sloping terrace on mid-slope of fairly steep, 70 foot, south-facing slope which forms the bank of ancient river channel. Plants restricted to mucky mud-holes created by cattle on upper edges of a couple discharge zones. Heavily-grazed pasture. Full sun. Forms dense mats. Associates include Scirpus pungens, Eleocharis palustris, Juncus alpinoarticulatus, Cyperus bipartitus, Sagittaria latifolia, Triglochin palustris.
