Habitat: In an abandoned cattle pasture ... Associated with Crataegus chrysocarpa, Alnus incana ssp. rugosa, Viburnum rafinesquianum.
Description: An open-grown, single-stemmed shrub forked just above the base, 2 m tall, and 6 cm diameter at the base. Stamens ca 10, anthers white. No compound thorns, but simple thorns nmerous. Fruits red, L =0.80-0.95 cm, W =0.70-0.95 cm. Nutlets 2-3. Collected from same stem as WRS 26162 (flowering).
