Habitat: fairly large conifer swamp complex west of the river. In area of interrupted canopy dominated by mature Larix laricina and Picea mariana. Patchy understory of Alnus incana. Partial shade ... in carpets of Sphagnum spp. and feathermosses, generally on hummocks. Associated species include Carex disperma, C. leptalea, C. stricta, Thelypteris palustris, Coptis groenlanica, Maianthemum canadense, Rubus pubescens, Smilacina trifolia, Aster borealis, Equisetum fluviatile, Trientalis borealis, Dryopteris cristata, Cornus stolonifera.
