Habitat: in rich, boggy, sedge fen in small depression along Hwy in rolling, wooded terrain. Spongy substrate with a carpet of Sphagnum moss. Full sun. Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. utriculata, Eriophorum angustifolium, E. chamissonis, Vaccinium macrocarpon, Triadenum fraeri, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Epilobium leptophyllum, Galium obtusum, Potentilla palustris, Salix pedicellaris.
