Habitat: Rather stronglyprolling terrain ... In small patches of dry prairie, especially in areas of level open sand that have recolonized portions of landfill previously mined for sand/gravel. Full sun. Associated species include Poa pratensis, Schizachrium scoparium, Cyperus lupulinus, Cenchrus longispinus, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Bouteloua hirsuta, Bromus inermis, Hedeoma hispida, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Conyza canadensis, Euphorbia glyptosperma, Solidago nemoralis, Potentilla argentea Rhus glabra.
