In wet meadow with groundwater seepage on shallow toe slope ... Downslope from calcareous fen. In community dominated mostly by Carex stricta and Calamagrostis canadensis. On deep peat deposit with water table at or above ground surface. Associated with Amorpha fruticosa, Leersia oryzoides, Acorus calamus, Helianthus giganteus, Eupatorium maculatum.
