Habitat:
at base and toe of slope. In maturing maple basswood forest dominated by Ulmus rubra, cf. Fraxinus nigra (40 cm DBH) 70% canopy with subcanopy closing gaps. E-aspect, 3-20% grade, dark sandy loam etc.
