Habitat: In fen-like areas in mosaic of graminoid wetland communities on shallow toe slopes; In community dominated mostly by Scirpus acutus and Muhlenbergia richardsonis. On deep peat deposit with water table at ground surface. Associated with Typha latifolia, Carex prairea, C. lasiocarpa var. americana, Aster umbellatus, Lysimachia quadriflora.
