Habitat:
On two dry, gravelly SW-facing shoulders of slopes just N of debouchure of large draw through prominent scarp-like former shoreline of Glacial [lake]. Long history of heavy grazing, with vegetation on shoulders very sparse except for this plant, which is avoided by cattle.
