Habitat: Canopy is interrupted, consisting of Fraxinus pensylvanica and Quercus macrocarpa, with occasional Tilia americana. Some logging has occured within the forest. Subcanopy of Carya cordiformis, Ulmus spp., Fraxinus pensylvanica. Associates include: Caulophyllum thalictroides, Osmorhiza sp., Geranium maculatum, Aplectrum hyemale, Galium sparine, Cryptotania [sic] canadensis, Hydrophyllum virginianum, Viola sororia.
