Habitat: Dominant in seepage-fed tamarack swamp "hanging" along the bae of a steep, 140 foot, northeast-facing slope. Associates include Mitella nuda, Smilacina trifolia, S. stellata, Corallorhiza trifida, Caltha palustris, Maianthemum canadense, Arisaema triphyllum, Equisetum hyemale, Pyrola asarifolia, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Rubus pubescnes, Carex dioica, Rhamnus alnifolia, Ribes triste, R. hirtellum, Toxicoendron rydbergii & Betula glandulifera.
