Habitat: two-acre poor fen dominated by Carex utriculata, in rolling forested terrain ... mostly in exposed peat, both along beaver-created moat and along wildlife trails, on very quaky peat across eastern half of fen. Water level in fen raised by beaver activity. Full sun. Additional associates include Carex lacustris, Typha x glauca, Bidens sp., Cicuta bulbifera, Potentilla palustris, Triadenum fraseri, Lysimachia thyrsiflora Salix petiolaris.
