Habitat: in large wet meadow dominated by Calamagrostis canadensis, with frequent Carex lacustris. Semi-saturated, highly-decomposed peat; drier than normal due to extended drought. Full sun. Additional associates include Polygonum amphibium var. emersum, Campanula aparinoides, Cicuta bulbifera, Rumex orbiculatus, Galium trifidum, Caltha palustris, Lathyrus palustris, Scutellaria galericulata, Aster borealis, Asclepias incarnata, Epilobium leptophyllum, Salix petiolaris.
