Habitat: in large tamarack swamp dominated localoy by rather dense yonger stand of Larix laricina. On mossy, drier tree base hummocks. Full shade. Associates include Carex leptalea, C. disperma, Rubus pubescens, Thelypteris palustris, Campanula aparinoides, Corallorhiza trifida, Betula glandulifera.
