Habitat: Along the banks ... fairly steep, 30-foot, west-facing slope, immediately above the river ... Heavily grazed cattle pasture. Coarse sand and gravel substrate. Full sun to partial shade of Betula papyrifera, Picea glauca, and Quercus macrocarpa. Associated species include Poa compressa, Verbascum thapsus, Centaurea biebersteinii, Equisetum hyemale, Artemisia campestris ssp. caudata, Euphorbia glyptosperma, Melilotus alba.
