Habitat:
in small, moist area near base of southeast-facing ridge...In gap in forest canopy otherwise dominated by Betula papyrifera which, with Acer spicatum & Corylus cornuta, partiallys shades this spot. Associates include Poa palustris, Glyceria striata, Carex gynandra, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus, Geum aleppicum var. strictum, Athyrium angustum, Equisetum arvense, Aralia racemosa, Salix discolor.
