Habitat: floodplain forest dominated by Acer saccharinum. Full shade. One offew small patches of intact floodplain forest along this stream which have escaped very heavy grazing. Sandy soil. Associates include Laportea canadensis, Scutellaria lateriflora, Phalaris arundinacea.
